Alyssa’s Blog

Online Communications has taught me several of things.  First, starting off the class we took the time to write a paper about technology.  After writing this paper I had learned that I should not take technology for granted because it is something so great that we have in our lives that has a great impact on the way we live.  Throughout the course we had worked on different projects and one project that we did was a group tutorial.  Working on this tutorial taught me how to work as a team and how to create a tutorial.  I also learned how to use windows movie maker and how to use that program that taped how we made our tutorial.  Working with my blog and my advisors blog I learned how to work with html, how to add widgets, and how to organize my posts.

I will use the skills that I have learned in this class when I go off into the real world.  I can use html when working on websites if I plan on having another class like this in the future.  From this class I have learned how to create and manage my own website which was a really cool experience.  I mean I have had other pages before, but I never kept up with them, such as live journals or myspaces.

Something from my electronic portfolio that I think is the best part of my page would be my technogical autobiography.  I really liked working with movie maker, it was something that I enjoyed most about this class.  This project doesn’t only connect with me, but with the class since it talks about technology in my life.

This class had more work than I had expected and it wasn’t the class I expected it to be.  However, I really did enjoy working with the different programs and creating pages.  It was a good experience and I believe that it has made me more technogical advanced.

The week of May 26-30 was a work week.  Along with being a work week, this was a short week since we didn’t have school on Monday.  I think that by having a short week and the project coming to an end I pushed myself to work hard to add more to my project.

On Wednesday we had received our mid term project grades to see how we were progressing.  I feel that the grade I had gotten was greater than I thought it would be.  When I got the paper I was happy that I could see what I could work on to improve my advisor’s blog.

Throughout the week I continued to work on my advisor’s blog and make it the best it could be.  On Friday we learned how to add polls and surveys to our blogs.  I liked working with the polls because it adds a little extra to spice up the page.
